Stupid Notice
@ 16/11/2006 - 18:49:56I got this notice on my car today basically that i drive a a dirty and dangerous car.
They are complaining that only 5% of 4x4's are taken off-road. Saying that 4x4's should only be seen in the wilderness. And apparently my jeep weighs in at 3 tons, hmmmmmmmmmm i don't think so. Then they give a list of fuel economy figures listing cars, which my jeep is not even on.
And one more thing, my jeep has been converted to use LPG gas, which i bet is more environmentally friendly than what ever they are driving.
What right do these people putting this on my car without knowing the facts of my jeep? I should sue them for something, bunch of idiots.
Sorry about the pictures but i couldn't take a nice one.

This is stupid. How do they know where you live? You may need your car. And even if you don't take your car off the road, it's a free world last time I checked!
There seems to be a witch hunt against 4x4 drivers at the moment as if they are the sole source of world pollution. Er...no. I hope you put it in the bin.
...you can guess I used to own one...!

I am very proud of the fact that i own a 4x4, why should i settle for anything less than my dream car?
16/11/06 @ 23:58
Call me crazy, but I'd consider it something of a compliment to be called "dirty and dangerous".

17/11/06 @ 01:12

17/11/06 @ 10:31
Do you suppose they post them on the Queen's Rover?
18/11/06 @ 03:08
exactly what i mean, they dont do it on her car, why on mine>?
lame assholes.
19/11/06 @ 14:53
I understand that you're angry, I would be too...and reiterate above comments...these people should mind their own business!!! Haven't they got better things to moan about!?? I used to own a Freelander, but it was practical with baby and large dog, and yes it was petrol, and yes I only once took it off road once, but I liked it - until I discovered I could have a CLK on my company car list !!! But I would have a 4x4 again. If these people want to moan to someone it should be at the manufacturers to get them all to run on LPG or, as Lexus are doing, make them a hybrid car petrol/electric !

well said my friend, very well said.

You can tell I'm looking into the Lexus can't you ? don't normally have such stats and info on cars to hand !!
| BananaMan [Member] 20/11/06 @ 11:32 |
Indeed, which one you thinking of buying?
21/11/06 @ 09:22
Take a look .....I think it's gorgeous, but not changing my car for another year and then I might get chance to get a 2nd hand Freelander 2 ???

Not bad at all my friend, looks really nice and i bet it drives great too.
When preparing for the move over here I actually contemplated bringing my F350 dually ( not a jeep ... a damned site bigger ) I was actually 'advised' against it!!! How funny. Of course I probably would have had too much fun watching the shocked looks on the faces of oncoming drivers when they saw the dually wheels on the back and wondered how in the hell I was going to get past them.
I do miss driving my truck though ..and can honestly say I never once went off roading in it!! Towed horses but never felt the need to go yahooing through muddy wooods. Each to their own I say.

i would love to go off-road but just don't have the time at the moment. After uni i will do it deffinitly.
Oh I have nothing against off roading ( I help out once a month with a local club here ) it's just not practical in a truck as big as the one I had. The 4x4 aspect was only handy when the horsetrailer was getting bogged down on back roads.
When you decide to start trying it check out the club I help out.

Cheers, i will have a look into this

I've been off-road three times.
Once intentionally.
